Important: Baseline Homes is a non-medical information service. We do not provide emergency response, medical monitoring, or fall detection. Our service supplements—but does not replace—in-person check-ins, medical care, or emergency services.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Baseline Homes services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including the account holder, designated contacts, and the resident of the monitored home.
2. Description of Service
2.1 What We Provide
Baseline Homes provides home activity monitoring services that:
- Install small, non-invasive sensors throughout the home
- Establish baseline patterns of daily activity over a learning period
- Monitor for changes in activity patterns that may indicate a concern
- Send sms and email notifications to designated family members or caregivers when significant changes are detected
- Provide activity reports and summaries through our family portal
2.2 What We Are Not
Baseline Homes is NOT:
- An emergency response service (we do not contact 911)
- A medical monitoring or alert system
- A fall detection service
- A replacement for in-person care or regular check-ins
- A security or intrusion detection system
Our Service is designed to provide supplementary information to help families stay aware of general activity patterns. It is not intended to detect, diagnose, or respond to medical emergencies or security threats.
3. Account Registration
3.1 Eligibility
To use our Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal authority to agree to these Terms
- Have appropriate consent or authority regarding the monitored residence
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
3.2 Consent of Monitored Person
If you are setting up monitoring for another person's residence, you represent that:
- The resident is aware of and consents to the monitoring, OR
- You have legal authority to make this decision on their behalf (e.g., power of attorney, legal guardianship)
Baseline Homes monitoring should never be installed without the knowledge of the resident, except where legally authorized.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
4. Service Terms and Fees
4.1 Subscription Plans
Our Service is provided on a monthly subscription basis. Current pricing and plan details are available on our website. Fees are subject to change with 30 days' notice.
4.2 Payment
- Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance
- Payment is due at the beginning of each billing cycle
- We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as displayed during checkout
- Failed payments may result in service interruption
4.3 Installation Fee
A one-time installation fee covers:
- Professional installation of monitoring equipment
- Sensor hardware and hub device
- Initial setup and configuration
- Training for designated contacts
4.4 Equipment Ownership
Monitoring equipment (sensors, hub, etc.) remains the property of Baseline Homes. Upon service cancellation, we may request return of equipment or arrange for removal.

You may cancel your subscription at any time by:

- Calling our support line during business hours
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to the Service until that date.

- Maintain sensors in their installed positions (do not move or obstruct)
- Replace sensor batteries when notified or allow us to do so
- Inform us of changes to the home layout or resident circumstances
- Keep contact information current for all designated recipients
- Respond appropriately to alerts (we notify; you or your contacts respond)
- Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with our equipment or systems
7. Service Limitations
7.1 No Guaranteed Detection
While we strive to provide reliable monitoring, we cannot guarantee:
- Detection of all activity changes or concerns
- 100% uptime or availability
- Delivery of all notifications (dependent on internet, cellular networks, etc.)
- Accuracy of all pattern analysis or alerts
7.2 Learning Period
Our system requires approximately 14 days to establish baseline patterns. During this period, alerts may be limited or less accurate as the system learns normal activity.
7.3 False Alarms and Missed Events
The Service may occasionally:
- Generate alerts for normal variations in routine (false positives)
- Fail to detect significant changes (false negatives)
We continuously work to improve accuracy, but perfect detection is not possible. Our Service should be one component of a broader care strategy, not the sole means of monitoring.
7.4 Internet and Power Dependency
Our Service requires:
- Active internet connection at the monitored residence
- Electrical power for the hub device
Service interruptions due to internet outages, power failures, or equipment malfunction may result in gaps in monitoring. We attempt to notify you of extended disconnections.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BASELINE HOMES AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Personal injury, death, or property damage
- Loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses
- Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your data
- Damages resulting from service interruptions
- Damages resulting from failure to detect a medical emergency, fall, or other event
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Baseline Homes and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Any dispute between you and a third party regarding the Service
11. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
- Update these Terms with reasonable notice
- Change pricing with 30 days' notice
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if:
- You breach these Terms
- Your payment method fails and is not resolved
- We are required to do so by law
- We discontinue the Service
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through:
- Informal negotiation: Contact us first to attempt resolution
- Mediation: If negotiation fails, parties agree to mediation before litigation
- Litigation: Any legal action shall be brought in the courts of Seneca County, Ohio
14. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Baseline Homes regarding the Service.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
